Consultancy

Consultancy often has extensive networks within the photography industry. They can connect clients with other professionals, potential collaborators, or photography communities, fostering valuable relationships. 

Our department provide a great opportunity for students through consultancy. It helps students to improve camera handling, photography and video graph skills. Through this we can develop our entrepreneur knowledge by conducting photo-shoot on each graduation day. We capture all events in our department functions and other departments too. It is very much helpful for us to do our magazine, documentary and project. It provides us change to learn more information about consultancy with the help of our department staff consultancy in charge MS. Jasmin malar, Assistant professor of English.

NET/SET:

Indeed! It is with great joy that the Department of  English , Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College offers NET (National Eligibility Test) exam lessons. For English literature fans, passing the NET test is a major turning point in their scholastic and professional careers. The English literature, language, and literary theory knowledge of candidates is tested on the NET tests, which maintain strict academic standards. Our Department sincerely guarantees that PG students are equipped to fulfil these criteria by offering NET exam classes, which promotes excellence to clear it.

 Classes for the NET\SET exam not only increase candidate’s confidence in their skills but also transfer knowledge. Our Department faculties MS.J.ARTHY, MS.M.PONMANI, MS.K.RISWANA equipping us by coaching NET classes, conducting tests, and promote the group discussion with one particular literary topic among ourselves and posting materials through  Google class, which helps us to learn effectively.

Events and competitions:

Events:

Utopia: It is one of the exciting event in our department. On that day, the students are very much eager to show their talents. Many competitions are conducted by our department including off stage and on stage events. We celebrate this utopia events on particular theme such as 'Read To Create',   'Fairy Tales' and IMP Beauty which are connected with our English literature.

Theatre Club:

our department conducted theatre club to enacted the Shakespeare's play Othello. Other department students came here to visit this play and share their reviews. It helps the students to express their talent of acting skill. 

Hand Writing competition:

   In our department they conducted the hand writing competition under the topic of 'Shakespeare sonnet'. And they encourage us by providing the certificates , books and medals. 

Book Review:

 our department conducted book review competition under the topic of comic books on National comic day celebration. The participants  are involved in this competition from our department and other departments too.

Shakespeare Day: 

On the memorial of Shakespeare's birthday, our department celebrated Shakespeare's day. our students acted in dramas of Shakespeare. It helps students to develop their skills in English drama.

SYTO:

SYTO in the Department of English often involves thinking carefully and understanding things deeply. Students have to put their thoughts together in a clear way, back up their ideas with proof, and consider different points of view. This helps them become better at thinking critically. In the Department of English lets students show how creative and unique they are. They can try out different ways of writing, use pictures and videos, and talk about various topics. This helps them express themselves and be creative. SYTO can help students enhance their writing skills, including grammar, vocabulary, and overall communication abilities. It provides a platform for students to practice writing and receive feedback from peers or teachers.

 

Effective teaching is very important. Teacher in our department access the needs of students allowing us to understand which classroom strategies may be helpful for us.  SYTO is one of the major roles in developing our communication skill.

SYTO can improve the communication skills which help to get the better job. And it can improve our communication skills. By continuously engaging us in syto, we can build confidence on ourselves without getting any hesitation.

COMMUNICATION LAB:

The communication laboratory in the English department of Thassim Beevi Abdul kader college for women helps to provoke the practical and applicable way of we learnt  via computers to do many activities such as  Poster making, infographics, video editing, literature review ,PPT presentation , watching literary movies stimulated our imaginative and vocabulary skills. language  lap provides us the basic tactical knowledge how to handle system and enhances our learning process effectively.

English departments' language labs provide a multitude of advantages to teachers and students alike.

The following are some major benefits of the English department's language lab:

Students can practice their language skills in a monitored setting in language labs. Students can improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities in English with interactive exercises, audiovisual resources, and pronunciation drills.

Language labs frequently have specific tools for practicing pronunciation. By practicing phonetic sounds, listening to native speakers, and getting immediate feedback, students can improve their pronunciation and lessen their accents, which will improve their communication skills. Language labs provide individualized instruction. Pupils are free to move at their own speed while concentrating on the areas that require development. Language labs frequently give users access to digital dictionaries, e-books, online language learning resources, and language-related websites. Students now have more resources at their disposal for research, vocabulary development, and studying different facets of English literature and linguistics. English language proficiency is a useful ability in many different professional domains. The language proficiency required for jobs in journalism, public relations, education, content creation, translation, and other language-related fields is taught to students in language labs. To sum up, language labs in English departments are essential for improving students' confidence, communication abilities, and language proficiency. These labs equip students for future career opportunities in the globalized world and prepare them for academic success by offering a dynamic and interactive learning environment.

 

VIDEO AND AUDIO LAB:

Video and audio labs are extremely useful in the age of remote and online learning. To support remote learning, educational institutions can produce top-notch audio resources, virtual labs, and video lectures. Continuity of education is ensured because students can interact with multimedia content from the comfort of their homes. In the digital age, being proficient with multimedia tools is essential. Students can practice digital literacy skills like multimedia storytelling, audio production, and video editing in video and audio labs. These abilities improve students' overall technological competency and are beneficial in a variety of professional fields. Researchers can record field observations, experiments, interviews, and oral histories by using audio and video labs. These multi-media recordings can be stored for later use and provide important research data. Another good way to share research findings with a larger audience is through podcasts and video documentaries.

 our department  captures the graduation day  photos, consultancy works, passport size photos and audios needed for the documentary was recorded in the audio lab.

 Department Of English

The English Department has always tried to provide the best when it comes to teaching the English language and literature. Apart from reading different kinds of writings like poetry, plays, essays and stories, the department works hard to explain the little details of the language by using the examples from day to day life. Many of the students are first language learners, but the young and enthusiastic teachers took on the challenge of teaching us the language without getting irritated. Our Head of the department  built a solid foundation of our department and for our learning process. She was the pillar, who motivates and encourages us to involve in many extra activities. teachers used to polish us to improve further learning and language skill. There was a separate library for our department, where the students could gain more knowledge on it. students are free to take any books according to their wish. 

 

  Teachers in the department are striving to enhance the students' knowledge on communication skills and linguistic skills.  The strength of the department is our teachers who are more friendly to us and we can communicate with them without any hesitation or being afraid of them.

  They also engage  us in projects and other activities which helps us to enhance our knowledge and communication skills.

  Overall, the teachers in our department are energetic and can think of new ideas to teach instead of just using the same old method.
